Appley Manor Hotel was built in 1850 as a magnificent Victorian gentleman's residence, its architecture inspired by Osborne House, Queen Victoria's residence at Cowes, complete with an observation tower overlooking the Solent. The building later spent many years as a boys' preparatory school, before beginning its life as a hotel. Now family-owned and run, Appley Manor has been a much-loved part of the Ryde community for three decades, extensively refurbished to combine modern comforts with the charm and character of its Victorian origins.
